Moodboard Of Ideas For 'Haven't Met You Yet'

Here is an overall view of our moodboard, the majority of the images that we used were screenshots from existing media products that we particularly liked and thought would fit with our own music video. We used the lyrics of the song as a basis for the development of our ideas, placing them at the centre of the piece of work. We then developed our ides around the lyrics, focusing on location, features and what we wanted to include in the video.

We looked at the idea of what features we would like in the female performer in the video that we would be producing. In order to do this, we looked at the existing music video for Michael Buble's song for inspiration. We had previously discussed, as a group, what we would like the female to look like and decided we would prefer it if she had long, natural and flowing hair, to be petite and of course, to suit the male performer, as the two would need to look good together.

We have included research into the areas and locations that we would be interested in using in our music video. Based on the major themes and ideas that we had for the storyline/narrative of the music video, we came up with a short list of ideas for the places at which we could film different parts or sections of our music video.
We looked at music videos that were made at areas close to where we live ourselves, and how we could interpret these locations and use them appropriately in our own media product. Examples of this include Greenwich park and specific elements and features found in London.

We have included some shots and ideas surrounding the actual artist of the song, that can be seen throughout the existing music video for the song. This will help us to be able to create the correct image for the artist that we include in our own music video. This also gives us incite into the genre of the music and aids our understanding of the music video in terms of costume, appearance, camera angles, and lighting etc. We have also researched into the parts of existing media products that we particularly liked and thought worked well with the song that they belonged.

The end result of the moodboard that we created will enable us to see more clearly the ideas that we have, to include in our music video. We have been able to express more fully than just through talking in a group, exactly what features we want to include. We have been able to illustrate the ideas that we have, and this enables us to gain a better understanding of what our finished media product will look like, to some extent.
